Extended Piedmont Slideshow

Seven days, Six nights
Santa Vittoria d’Alba, Monforte
July 20 – 26, 2012
Cost: $4,650
(single supplement $575)

The long, lush hills that comprise the areas around Barolo and Alba contain some of Italy's best-kept secrets. Few areas can compete with the vineyards of this region where the earth brings forth many of Italy's finest wines, Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera to name just a few. Piedmont rests at the pinnacle of Italian cuisine and is home to the Slow Food movement, dedicated to the preservation of traditional and artiginal products, from the simple ceci (garbanzo) bean, to the prized white and black truffle. To gaze across the landscape, it seems as if the people have been guarding these secrets for centuries as a medieval castle protecting its small village and church dominates every hilltop.
